WHAT DOES A DIETITIAN DO?

Dietitians understand how nutrition impacts the body and use this knowledge to treat a range of medical conditions. Trained in medical nutrition therapy, dietitians translate scientific nutrition information into dietary advice. They use specialised coaching strategies to improve wellbeing through lifestyle and diet changes.

WHO CAN SEE A DIETITIAN?

Anyone can see a dietitian if they have a need or desire to improve or change their diet, eating habits or meal planning; either for good health or because of a medical condition.

DO I NEED A REFERRAL FROM MY GP TO SEE A DIETITIAN?

No, you can refer yourself or family member or you can be referred by your GP or other health professional. To request an appointment with our dietitians you may simply call, email, complete the 'Contact' form below or book directly online.

HOW LONG ARE THE SESSIONS?

An initial assessment takes 45 minutes. this allows the dietitian to get all the relevant details and issues and provide a considered plan for you.

A review session can take up to 30 minutes as we follow up your progress, provide further information and discuss the next steps.
